Well, shitski. I have done fuck all since I've been home. Well, that's a lie. (I know, I know...where was I? I was down in Kansas for most of November with my family.) Yesterday I went to my appointment at UNO. Life's kind of funny. The only reason I joined the Air Force National Guard was because I dicked around in high school. I was smart, but had no work ethic...except for when it came to Army JROTC. Anyway, long story. I decided I would us the Guard as a means to go to school. I joined the Guard a month before I graduated high school. I went away to BMT, then to my tech school. I came back and it's all of a sudden been two years since I graduated high school and I STILL haven't done what I joined the Guard to do...which is go to college.
At any rate, I took a look at UNO yesterday and got some questions asked. (Thankfully Matt was with me and knows what needs to be asked and all.) I was all kinds of excited. Then I found out that I got around to everything too late (surprise, surprise...though not entirely my own fault), and I'm not going to get to start school for the spring semester. I have to wait until next semester...which, I highly doubt I'll start during summer, but perhaps I will.
I plan to major in International Studies. Other than that, I have no idea what I'm doing. I should double major or minor in a foreign language, but I haven't decided which one. I am good at learning languages and I know more German than anything. (I took four years of it.) However, furthering my German skills doesn't really coincide with what I had in mind for my "play time". I sort of wanted to learn Japanese, because I'm really interested in visiting there. It looks like I will probably just break down and continue German. Perhaps later in life, I will learn Japanese.
Also, I am not sure what to pair my International Studies with. I mean, do I choose business? Law? What do I ultimately wish to be? I just want to travel, learn, and eat! Perhaps an ambassador? Maybe one of those people who writes the travel guides? I really haven't the foggiest! Maybe that's part of what an advisor is for?
Eh, anyway...enough of my long-winded crap. I have to clean, decorate, and make a cake within two hours. LOL!
